Our Goal
Spirituality is a good thing, it is the interpretation of that spirituality that becomes religion where the mistakes are made. To follow a religion blindly is to give up the freedom of choice god gave us. You are more than welcome to follow any religion you so choose, as per god’s wishes, all I’m asking is keep your eyes open. His or her will, your choice of pronouns (who is to say it has to be one or the other, might be both), was to give us the freedom of choice to make up our own minds about everything, including religion. When we take it to extremes is when we step away from the will of god and venture into abomination. Do you really think god wants us to persecute our fellow man, his/her children? I think not, I think he/she wants us to coexist with each other, grow, prosper, and fulfill the desire to become as one with god. Every religion thinks they have it all bottled up. “They are right, you are wrong.” I think in their own way each is right, at the core, but they are also wrong. They have to be. Each one contains a piece, but not the whole. So long as religion is blinded by its own self righteousness, then it is flawed. Even my belief is flawed, I haven’t been to the other side, I haven’t seen the afterlife. I can only give you my vision, and I’d like to think it’s a little clearer than most, but of course, we all think that. I see every person as equal, in their own right. Whether they are man, woman, homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, gender confused, christian, muslim, buddhist, tao, black, white, native american, etc.. I can make list a mile long. The bottom line: we are all children of god. In essence an extension of god hisself/herself. Even further an extension of each other. I might have been that guy, I passed on the street, if I’d been born differently.
Why should I persecute my fellow man, when in essence I’d be persecuting myself? Now I am fully aware that I risk alienating the people that I know and love with my statements. I would also like to think that these statements would be no surprise to them, as this is the way I live. A good friend of mine once said when asked whether his beliefs were a way of life or his religion answered, “What is religion, but a way of life?” and I have found that to be 100% true. If you believe in the religion you follow, then it is your way of life, and you will live it as such. To do anything else is to lie to yourself and to god. If you are only living your religion one day a week, and expect that to make up for the other six days of the week, then you fall into this category. For those of you whom I don’t know, and who don’t know me, if this offends you, then I accept that and I hope that you find peace in your life and your own beliefs. If your open minded enough to listen to a different point of view, then look around, you just might find something that opens your eyes.
What I am striving to provide are lessons to help you live a life fulfilled. To guide you to a more relaxed and happy existence. If you come away from these pages with a brighter outlook on the future, then I have fulfilled my purpose. I believe each and every one of us has a purpose in life, and mine is to help my fellow man to a greater understanding of the joys this life has to offer.
